Let’s get into it… A professional listener: a professional listener is someone who practices ‘active listening’. Someone who listens to you with an empathetic ear and, unlike a doctor, is not attempting to diagnose you with any sort of issue. We are non-judgmental and do not provide any feedback unless asked of us. IMPORTANT: I AM NOT A DOCTOR NOR DO I HOLD ANY SORT OF MEDICAL DEGREE The benefit of having a professional listener is that, unlike your friends, we do not have any stake in the information you share with us and you run no risk of that information ever being shared with people with whom you know. “How can you guarantee confidentiality if you’re not a doctor who is bound by HIPAA or any other laws/regulations related to privacy?” Very simple: I ask that you reach out using the Craigslist email (which does not disclose your identity) and when we move from email to our phone appt I ask that you block your number when you call. All payments are made to via CashApp which allows you to use a name which is fictitious and I insist you not use your real name for this account which you will use to make payments for your service. Other payment options that still preserve your identity can be discussed during our consultation if you are unable to use CashApp. “How do I know I’m not going to be scammed?”: Well, the good news is I give you a free consultation over the phone so I can answer any questions you may have and so we can see if we are a good fit to work together. Then, if you decide to schedule an appt or have already requested to have an appt following our consultation, I will have you make a payment via CashApp at the beginning of our session while we are on the phone together. After that payment shows up we begin our appointment. If you would like notes from me regarding our appointment(s) those are also available.
