This is a clinical research study to test the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication for Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (Fatty Liver). Participants who qualify for the study will receive trial related procedures and receive study medication at no cost. Study Details: This study is testing an investigational oral medication compared to placebo in the treatment of Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (Fatty Liver). Either the study medication or placebo will be taken by mouth once daily before breakfast for a year and a half. Total study duration, including screening, is approximately 1 year and 8 months with 15 clinic visits. Study procedures and tests will include blood work, liver biopsy, ultrasound specifically for liver measurements, and Dexa Scan. You will be asked to maintain at least an 8-hour fast (no food or drink, except water) prior to study visits.
